SECR

We are

Committed to Information Technology and associated electronics disposition, reuse and recycling as per internationally accepted standards, regulations, and procedures to not only protect our precious environment from e-waste but also to help provide less fortunate world population an opportunity to obtain IT equipment which are within their grasp.

“It’s not a waste until it’s wasted“

Our precious planet is home to over 7.7 billion human lives that is now breathing in an ever-deteriorating environment due to technological advancements that on one hand made our lives convenient but on the other produces 20 to 50 million metric tons of e-waste worldwide every year. Americans contribute their fair share of e-waste as well. At the given rate by 2030, this e-waste is expected to balloon up to an alarming level, 74.7 million metric tons, which is surely going to toxic our environment and expose all living beings to several hazardous toxic metals.

But what if this enormous e-waste could be recycled responsibly to reshape the future and, in the process, assist less fortunate and deprived people in the underdeveloped nations with it? Echoing the same philosophy, SECR saw an opportunity and potential to recycle the unwanted electronics of today to make it reusable and in the process help many people in many underdeveloped countries who would otherwise not be able to afford them.

“It’s not a waste until it’s wasted.“It’s this concept to restore and reuse resources from end-of-life computers, laptops, electronics, and related office technology products in an eco-friendly manner, that today SECR is fully committed to serve business, education, Government, and other community organizations to take their e-waste out of their hands in a secure and safe manner and make them reusable.

About Us

SECR (Southeast Computer Recyclers) is an R2v3 certified company, based in Northeast of Atlanta (Alpharetta), Georgia. SECR is compliant with international management standards including ISO 9001 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System), ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System), and R2v3 (The sustainable Electronics Reuse & Recycling (R2) Standard v3).

SECR (Southeast Computer Recyclers) provides end of life asset re-evaluation and green recycling for business, education, government, and community organizations. Computer recycling, electronic recycling or e-waste recycling is the disassembly and separation of components and raw materials of waste electronics. Although the procedures of re-use, donation and repair are not strictly recycling, they are other common sustainable ways to dispose of IT waste.

Making E-Waste Reusable

SECR provides recycling services through its R2 affiliate, Chicago Surplus Computers (CSC) that is based in Lombard, Chicago and has been in the computer recycling, refurbishing and remarketing business for over 20 years. CSC is a division of Comptech Recycling and Trading (CRT). CRT focuses on the wholesale market whereas CSC focuses on the U.S and Canadian markets. The company also has warehousing, sales and distribution operations in Dubai (UAE), Dar ES Salaam (Tanzania, Africa), Ghana, and Zambia. In the near future, CSC looks to expand in the other parts of the world focusing on the underdeveloped countries of Africa and Southeast Asia so that the recycled electronics become available to its people for use in education and learning domains at affordable prices.

Mission – SECR’s Commitment to Community Service

SECR is committed to providing a portion of recycled and refurbished computers and related equipment on minimal cost to less fortunate in underdeveloped and developing countries with focus on young students, who may lack access to technological tools like computers/laptops that can assist them in seeking education and stay competitive in the world stage.
